Southside High EscapadesWhile all the stories are wonderful in this anthology， my review will only be about Mankin’s story。 Michelle Mankin reminded me of why I love a good rockstar romance。 In her tale， filled with twists and turns， readers are treated to a sad tale of love， loss， and betrayal。 Being forced to live out their high school days with a disgruntled uncle， Lace and Dizzy enter Southside High School， where the gangs guard their designated school locations。 They are lucky to find a few Southside High EscapadesWhile all the stories are wonderful in this anthology， my review will only be about Mankin’s story。 Michelle Mankin reminded me of why I love a good rockstar romance。 In her tale， filled with twists and turns， readers are treated to a sad tale of love， loss， and betrayal。 Being forced to live out their high school days with a disgruntled uncle， Lace and Dizzy enter Southside High School， where the gangs guard their designated school locations。 They are lucky to find a few like minded music people to form a band， giving their lives some needed meaning。 Meeting up with an old friend， Bryan and making a new friend， War， sets off the rollercoaster of highs and lows that will keep you turning pages with trepidation。 The love triangle between band members can only lead to disaster but not for the reasons you think。 I highly recommend this read。 。。。more

Getting an ARC was this book was amazing but bad because it means a longer wait for book too lol。 The characters are everything I love。 A broken anti-hero with more layers then an onion。 If you are a Michelle Mankin fan then you know a lot about Southside and what it takes to survive let alone be top dog。 But a dog has a leash and a master， just like Kyle。 We met Kyle before but only through War， Brian and Lacey’s eyes。 When the story started it was business as usual for Kyle， the drug dealer。 B Getting an ARC was this book was amazing but bad because it means a longer wait for book too lol。 The characters are everything I love。 A broken anti-hero with more layers then an onion。 If you are a Michelle Mankin fan then you know a lot about Southside and what it takes to survive let alone be top dog。 But a dog has a leash and a master， just like Kyle。 We met Kyle before but only through War， Brian and Lacey’s eyes。 When the story started it was business as usual for Kyle， the drug dealer。 But in his head is another side he keeps buried in order to survive。 Now let’s move to the other side of the city， Lakeside。 Nothing but luxury and pretty people， except Claire。 She doesn’t fit in with her privileged peers （some of Kyle’s best customers btw）。 They have bullied her， her whole life。 Her Dad is her hero and she just wants to please him and her mother just wants her to fit in。 Fate puts them in each other’s path and it turns into a night that lifetimes are built on。 Michelle outdid herself with the writing the scenes， which are just a long night broken between POVs。 It was hot hot hot while one of the most romantic things I have ever read。 Then BOOM both their worlds explode。 Didn’t see it coming the way it did。 I am so excited for the next book that will continue the story。 You will get all the feels but be forewarned it is a cliffhanger。 Preorder and read ASAP 。。。more
